Registered Manager – children’s Home

We are working in partnership with a provider of children’s services to recruit a Registered Manager for their children’s home in Sale, Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to take full responsibility for the operational leadership of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and positive outcomes for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

As Registered Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the home, lead a dedicated staff team, and ensure full compliance with Ofsted requirements and safeguarding legislation. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive.

What we’re ideally looking for:

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within required timeframe)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting within the last 5 years
• At least 1 year in a supervisory or management role in a children’s home
• PACE experience (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the operational management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding
• Provide strong leadership and supervision to the staff team, including recruitment, inductions, appraisals, and reflective practice
• Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations, Care Standards Act, and Ofsted expectations
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, embedding a strong safeguarding culture
• Lead on quality assurance, audits, and preparation for Ofsted inspections
• Manage placement plans, risk assessments, and health & safety audits
• Work in partnership with families, social workers, health and education providers
• Support children and young people to achieve their personal goals and positive outcomes
