Practitioner Psychologist – CYP residential & outdoor activities
Shire Healthcare are recruiting for a Practitioner Psychologist to work within a unique CYP residential programme with an outdoor adventure focus. This is a home-based role with visits across the West Midlands, North Wales and Gloucestershire.
Role snapshot:
The candidate appointed will be joining a newly launched Clinical provision – an Activity and Interventions service. The aim of this service is to offer Children and Young People a 90 residential programme which incorporates outdoor adventure and focussed support to help break negative cycles.
The post holder will provide specialist psychological support to the Activity and Interventions team whilst overseeing assessments, risk management and therapeutic plans (delivering training on therapeutic approaches where required). The role will also include providing consultation on trauma, attachment and recovery.
Contract type – permanent
Hours – full time, subject to applications, part time may be considered
Salary – up to £65,000 FTE plus £3600 car allowance
WFH/Travel – This is a working from home-based role but there are 6 homes across Staffordshire, Shropshire, Gwynedd, Gloucestershire and North Wales that will require visits once per month per site.
Experience required:
Clinical, Counselling and Forensic Psychologists applying will have HCPC registration along with a forensic Psychology background, exploitation, prison services, youth offending, or victim support. The key experience is to have worked with vulnerable young people in complex settings.
