Consultant Psychologist – substance misuse

Shire Healthcare are recruiting for an experienced HCPC registered Principal Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist to work within a specialist Drug and Alcohol recovery service in Birmingham.

Role snapshot:

The candidate appointed will develop the psychology services and psychosocial interventions offered to support people experiencing difficulties associated with drug and alcohol use. You will also line manage, and offer clinical supervision where appropriate.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to contribute to and deliver a trauma informed service. You will be expected to provide clinical leadership , and support service development.

You will provide psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions to service users focusing on recovery from using substances.

Contract type – permanent

Hours – part-time hours, 18.75 hours per week

Salary – £72,000 FTE – £82,800 FTE

Experience required:

Suitable candidates will hold HCPC registration as a Clinical, Counselling and Forensic Psychologists and have experience in working with substance misuse. Previous trauma experience is desirable, and you must be able to deliver clinical supervision.
