Counsellor – specialist school

Shire Healthcare are working with a leading provider of specialist care and education recruiting for a Counsellor to be based in West Lancashire.

About the employer:

This employer is an independent leading provider of specialist care and education. They work with children and young people in either an educational and/or residential setting who present a complexity of needs including developmental trauma, neuro-developmental conditions, autism, ADHD, and special educational needs.

Role snapshot:

The candidate appointed be joining an MDT working with pupils and residents (5-19 yrs old) as well as supporting educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments. The post holder will conduct assessments and deliver 121 interventions to service users.

Contract type – permanent (52 week working)

Hours – full time

Salary – £43,400 – £52,500 FTE

Experience required:

Candidates applying will be registered or accredited with the relevant governing body such as the BACP or HCPC, along with having previous experience working with children and young people with complex needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH and /or learning disabilities. Those working towards accreditation will be considered.
